"A quiet transformation of a townhouse, creating a new architectural identity through a dialogue between past and present."
TPWH is an exercise in quiet transformation. The project began not with a desire for erasure, but with an inquiry into how a familiar townhouse form could be given a new, distinct architectural identity. The challenge was to create a thoughtful dialogue between the original structure and a new, modern layer.
The exterior narrative is one of precision and contrast. Crisp white planes are juxtaposed with dark, articulated frames, creating a facade that respects the home's original massing while asserting a clear and confident new character. This interplay of solid and void, of light and shadow, gives the building a renewed sense of life and dynamism.
Inside, this philosophy continues. The design creates a sequence of spaces that are both interconnected and individual, balancing the openness of modern living with a tangible sense of place. Each detail is considered as part of the larger conversation between past and present.
The result is a residence transformed. It is a home where its history remains present but is seen through a contemporary lens, creating a space that is both rooted in its origins and entirely new.
