"Andre captures the essence of a classic French bistro by blending original materials with a contemporary touch, creating a nostalgic yet vibrant dining experience."

Andre is an architectural and interior design project that reimagines a ground-floor commercial building in the heart of Bangrak as an intimate French restaurant. Guided by the owner's vision, the design preserves the beloved character of the original Andre while transforming the new space into a warm and welcoming venue that feels authentic to its roots.

The primary design inspiration comes from the existing materials of the old building, such as exposed brick and raw concrete, which form the foundation of the restaurant's aesthetic. These elements are seamlessly integrated with wood finishes and soft, neutral tones to create a rustic yet refined atmosphere. The strategic addition of greenery throughout the space enhances the welcoming ambiance, inviting patrons to linger and enjoy their meals in a relaxed setting.

A unique feature of the design is its focus on the kitchen, which occupies half the restaurant’s floor area, reflecting the owner’s dedication to quality and craftsmanship in every dish. Despite having only 42 dining seats, the oversized kitchen underscores the importance of culinary excellence.

As the restaurant eschews air conditioning, the design emphasizes natural ventilation systems. Special attention was given to airflow in both the dining and kitchen areas to ensure a comfortable environment for guests while maintaining the charm and authenticity of a French bistro.

Andre is a celebration of enduring design, culinary artistry, and the seamless blending of past and present. Its thoughtful use of original materials and innovative solutions positions it as a standout destination for diners seeking both comfort and elegance.
