Phuffle is a visionary project redefining the boundaries of café design. Located in the bustling area of Pathum, this project fuses architectural ingenuity with interior innovation, offering visitors more than just a dining experience—it’s a journey through a layered, interconnected social space.
At its heart, Phuffle features a central staircase that transcends functionality to become a sculptural centerpiece. This staircase not only connects the "Slow Bar" on the ground floor to the "Main Bar" on the upper level but also symbolizes continuity, bridging beginnings and ends, people and spaces. The staircase seamlessly blends form and function, serving as seating, display, and circulation while challenging conventional perceptions of café interiors.
The design incorporates three key voids, each integral to Phuffle’s narrative. The staircase void ensures fluid vertical movement, the central courtyard introduces natural light and greenery, and the Slow Bar void visually and functionally connects two levels, enhancing the social atmosphere. These voids not only facilitate interaction but also weave nature into the urban fabric, reducing heat and creating a serene ambiance.
Phuffle’s monochromatic palette—washed sand, brushed stainless steel, and textured concrete—strikes a balance between modernity and timelessness. Prefabricated elements bring precision to the intricate design, particularly the staircase, which supports a variety of uses while maintaining structural integrity.
Dynamic lighting plays a crucial role in the café's adaptive functionality, shifting from daylight-inspired clarity to intimate warmth, ensuring the space evolves to suit everything from casual dining to social gatherings and art exhibitions.
